Terms of Service

1. Agreement

These Terms govern your access to and use of Haunt: the website, dashboard, GitHub App, and the reports and recordings it produces (the "Service"). By creating an account, installing the GitHub App, or otherwise using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you are agreeing on behalf of a company, you confirm you have authority to bind it.

2. Your account

You must be at least 16 years old and able to enter a contract. You are responsible for everything that happens under your account, for keeping your credentials secure, and for the conduct of anyone you invite into your workspace. Tell us promptly at hello@haunt.sh if you suspect unauthorised access.

3. Repository access

Connecting a repository grants Haunt permission to read it, to clone it into a disposable sandbox, to run the application it contains, and to write comments, check runs, and reports back to your pull requests. You confirm you have the right to grant that access for every repository you connect.

Haunt executes code from your repository, including code contributed by others in a pull request, inside an isolated sandbox. You are responsible for what that code does and for what any environment you point Haunt at contains. Do not point Haunt at an environment holding production customer data, credentials you cannot rotate, or anything you would not want captured in a recording.

4. Your content

You keep all rights to your repositories, your application, and the artifacts Haunt produces from them. You grant us a limited licence to host, process, transmit, and display that content solely to operate the Service for you, including sending it to the model providers described in our Privacy Policy. We do not use your content to train models, and this licence ends when you delete the content or close your account.

5. Plans, credits, and billing

• Paid plans are billed in advance on a recurring basis until cancelled.
• Each plan includes a monthly credit allowance. Credits are consumed per run, at the weights published on our pricing page, and do not roll over.
• If you enable overage, usage beyond your allowance is billed at the per-credit rate shown at checkout.
• Fees are exclusive of taxes, which we add where required.
• You can cancel at any time; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. Fees already paid are non-refundable except where the law requires otherwise.
• We may change prices with at least 30 days' notice before your next renewal.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Use the Service to access, test, or attack systems you do not own or have permission to test.
• Upload or run malware, cryptominers, or code whose purpose is to abuse our sandbox infrastructure.
• Attempt to break out of a sandbox, circumvent credit metering or rate limits, or probe our infrastructure without written permission.
• Resell or white-label the Service, or use it to build a directly competing product.
• Violate any applicable law, or anyone's intellectual property or privacy rights.

We may suspend a run, a repository, or an account that we reasonably believe violates this section, and will tell you why where we can.

7. Automated review is advisory

Haunt is an automated tool. Its findings, verdicts, merge-confidence scores, and recorded demos are advisory only. A passing review is not a guarantee that your code is correct, secure, or fit for any purpose, and a failing one is not proof of a defect. You remain responsible for reviewing, testing, and shipping your own software.

8. Third-party services

The Service integrates with GitHub, Vercel, and other providers. Your use of those services is governed by their terms, and we are not responsible for their availability or behaviour.

9. Availability and changes

We aim to keep the Service available but do not promise uninterrupted operation. We may add, change, or remove features. If we discontinue a material feature or the Service itself, we will give reasonable notice and let you export your reports.

10. Our intellectual property

The Service, including its software, design, and brand, remains ours. These Terms grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the Service, and nothing more.

11. Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time by uninstalling the GitHub App and closing your account. We may suspend or terminate your access for a material breach of these Terms, or if required by law. On termination your right to use the Service ends and we may delete your content after a reasonable period.

12. Disclaimer

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement, to the fullest extent permitted by law.

13. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, neither party is liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue, or data. Our total liability arising out of or relating to the Service is limited to the amounts you paid us in the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

14. Indemnity

You will defend and indemnify us against third-party claims arising from your content, your use of the Service, or your breach of these Terms.

15. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms. We will change the date above and, for material changes, notify you by email or in the dashboard at least 30 days before they take effect. Continuing to use the Service after that means you accept the new Terms.

16. General

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, are the entire agreement between us. If a provision is unenforceable, the rest stays in effect. Failing to enforce a provision is not a waiver of it. You may not assign these Terms without our consent; we may assign them in connection with a merger or sale of assets.
